Stay focused with timed work and break cycles. Customizable intervals, task tracking, desktop notifications and session history β all in your browser.
The Pomodoro Technique was developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. Named after a tomato-shaped kitchen timer (pomodoro = tomato in Italian), it breaks work into focused 25-minute intervals followed by short 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15β30 minute break every 4 sessions.
The technique leverages time-boxing to reduce the impact of internal and external interruptions on focus. Knowing a break is coming lowers anxiety. The physical act of "winding the timer" creates commitment. Regular breaks prevent cognitive fatigue and maintain sustained high performance throughout the day.
